David Diebold was editor of The Herald’s flagship entertainment magazine (2000-2004); Features Editor of The Herald (2004-2009) and Opinion/Analysis Editor, Herald News (2009-2011). In 2011, he was shortlisted for Feature Writer of the Year at the National Newspapers of Ireland (NNI) Annual Awards. He was  finalist for Columnist of the Year at the National Lottery-sponsored Journalism Awards 2016. He writes a weekly column for  The Herald (2011 to date) and writes additional feature articles and reviews for The Herald and Irish Independent. He is co-director of Monument Media Ltd, which publishes Skerries News as well as tourist, food and event-related publications, and lives in Skerries with his wife, Emily, a weekly food writer for The Herald, and his four children, where they also run a landmark independent tourist information office.
